2001 - Elizabeth and Annette Thomson
From Bringelly, NSW, Elizabeth and Annette were associated with the Royal Easter Show for nearly 40 years, after first exhibiting Holstein dairy cattle there in 1964. Prize winning dairy exhibitors, they were also celebrated for their dedication to the education of city children through their famous Milky Way milking demonstrations which became a Show tradition for 30 years. In 1997 the sisters received RAS Contributor of the Year awards and in 2004 they were awarded the Order of Australia medal for their contribution to shows and the dairy industry through the Holstein-Friesian Association of Australia.
