2008 - Robert (Bob) Palmer
Nicknamed the ‘master horseman’, Bob Palmer took out 14 World Campdrafting championships during his career, which spanned four decades. At the 2008 Royal Easter Show he competed against riders half his age (he was then 77) and still received the top score for the campdrafting challenge. He won his first campdrafting competition at the Show in 1966 and did not miss a Show until 1997. He also won rough-riding rodeo events and the Working Australian Stock Horse Championship on multiple occasions. In 2008 Bob was delighted to be named that year’s Show Legend.
