Independent Board Director Expression of Interest

The RAS Foundation’s (RASF) mission is to support the development of strong, sustainable & resilient regional & rural communities by promoting individual and community growth via educational scholarships and community grants.

The RAS Foundation serves as a key vehicle for advancing the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s (RAS) mission through charitable activities, with a particular focus on education, scholarships, and community grants in rural and regional Australia. The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is the only Member of the RAS Foundation Limited.

In accordance with the RASF Constitution, the Board is comprised of 2-4 Directors from the Royal Agricultural Society and 2-4 Independent Directors, as appointed by the Member.

The RASF is seeking active Board members with a commitment to rural and regional Australia and its future, with diverse skills, abilities and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Rural and regional education and skills development
  • Fundraising and philanthropy
  • Governance in a not-for-profit organisation
  • Rural and regional communities

Board Directors are expected to work collaboratively with other board directors and the Executive Officer to advance the interests of the RASF. Individuals are invited to express their interest for appointment to the board for a 3-year renewable term. This is an honorary role. 

Completed Applications should be emailed to foundation@rasf.org.au with the subject line “Application for Director - your name” and received by 5pm AEST on Thursday 21st August 2025.

Applications should include:

  • A letter addressing the desired criteria and how your skills will contribute to the success of the organisation (maximum 800 words)
  • Contact details of two referees
  • A full resume (maximum 2 pages)
