Students to gain important insight into agricultural career options at Discover Ag Student Career Expo
Posted on 04 JUNE 2025
High school students from across NSW will gain invaluable insight into the various career paths available within the agriculture industry today as the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s Discover Ag Student Career Expo gets underway at Sydney Showground.
In a create-your-own-adventure style, students will be able to explore a range of career opportunities at their own pace in the morning before selecting five thirty-minute focus sessions in the afternoon to learn more.
Career options available range from exploring Ag tech with Charles Stuart University and the University of Sydney to equine programs through TAFE NSW and Agribusiness graduate programs.
The RAS Education team said they are delighted to welcome students to Discover Ag 2025 and help them to learn more about the industry.
“We are thrilled to bring Discover Ag to Sydney and highlight the incredible range of careers available within the agricultural sector,” they said.
“The event plays an instrumental role in connecting students with organisations and individuals working within the industry and provides students with a unique opportunity to explore and engage with a range of varied careers.
“For so many, the idea of working in agriculture revolves around working on the land, and although that will always be an integral part of the industry, there is so much more the industry has to offer. Whether you are interested in finance, science, engineering, technology, or communications, there is an opportunity for you to work within an industry that clothes, feeds, and nourishes our nation.
“As a not-for-profit agricultural organisation, our mission is to teach the community about the importance of agriculture in Australia. We did that in April through our famed Sydney Royal Easter Show and are now offering students a chance to learn more about what opportunities are available within the sector.”
