Elected to Council in 2003 Alison is not only incredibly experienced in all aspects of the art world including valuations, collection curation and sales, but she is also an accomplished public speaker, educator, and active committee member. Alison has a Master of Arts Administration from The University of New South Wales, Sydney.
Alison understands that collaboration and cohesion are essential in the best interests of the RAS and is motivated to keep the organisation engaged with the communities it serves.
Alison has served on numerous committees, her experience allows her to play a strong role ensuring the RAS continues to support agricultural excellence and innovation in all fields.
RAS Foundation
Purposed to build on the iconic legacy of the RAS, the Foundation recognises rural and regional communities as the lifeblood of the agricultural sector in New South Wales. Holding Deductible Gift Recipient (DGR) status under the Income Tax Assessment Act of 1997 (Cth), the Foundation receives tax-deductible donations for the many grants, scholarships and community projects it supports. Through these grants, scholarships and community projects, the Foundation promotes the maintenance, renewal, regeneration and development of strong, sustainable and vibrant rural, regional and remote communities in Australia. Building a strong, vibrant and skilled NSW through investment in education, training and development of rural communities.

2018
Show Societies are asked to mount displays of their produce. Depending on space available, the displays are exhibited sporadically throughout the late 1800s. They become a permanent feature in 1900.
2019
Arts and Craft items first made their appearance at the Metropolitan Intercolonial Exhibition. The section ‘Works of Art’ included paintings, photographs, models, wool and waxworks. Another section headed ‘Articles of Colonial Manufacture’ showed a wide range of craft products from glassware to perfumery, along with other manufactured goods.
