The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW is proud to announce ACCIONA as the new major sponsor of the prestigious Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman Competition.

The Young Woman program is a premier leadership initiative for young women, designed to recognise and empower exceptional individuals who demonstrate strong leadership, active community engagement and a passion for rural, regional and remote NSW.

The support of ACCIONA will significantly enhance the reach, impact, and visibility of this incredible program, creating even greater opportunities for young women across regional NSW.

RAS President, John Bennett, expressed his enthusiasm for ACCIONA’s support and the exciting potential it brings to broaden the program’s footprint in the years to come.

“We are delighted that ACCIONA have come on board as a sponsor of our Young Woman program.

Their commitment to empowering young women in regional communities aligns perfectly with the RAS’s mission to foster leadership and strengthen the future of rural and regional Australia”, Mr Bennett said.

“The Young Woman competition has been celebrating the next generation of female leaders for over 60 years, and with the support of ACCIONA, we can continue to develop and support these exceptional women, who are driving positive change in their communities and industries across rural, regional and remote NSW”.

ACCIONA is a global leader in sustainable infrastructure solutions, combining local expertise with global experience to deliver positive outcomes for society. In Australia, ACCIONA has evolved from a rich history of local companies, companies built on family values, who have delivered complex, sustainable, and iconic projects across this country for over 100 years.

Andre Noonan, ACCIONA’s Chief Operating Officer in Australia and New Zealand expressed his delight in the partnership, reiterating ACCIONA’s commitment to contribute to economic and social development across the country:

“At ACCIONA we are passionate about challenging ourselves to constantly find better, more effective, and more sustainable ways to deliver our projects. A key enabler in achieving this is empowering people to be brave, to be curious and to take the lead - a quality consistently demonstrated by the impressive young women who have participated in this program for decades and the outcomes they have delivered for their communities.”

The 2026 Young Woman program has already begun with close to 200 young women starting their journey across 172 local Shows. Regional winners advance to one of seven Zone Finals, with the winners of each Zone progressing to the State Final at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, where the 2026 ACCIONA Sydney Royal AgShows NSW Young Woman will be announced.
