Awarded For: Awarded for Best of Breed Australian Kelpie

Donated By: Donated by Joy Jorgensen (Jean Walker's daughter) and family and first presented in 1997. Australian Kelpies were a part of Jean's life from adolescence to her twilight years. She was a founding member of the Australian Kelpie Club of NSW and Life Membership was bestowed upon her in recognition of her work for the club and the breed. As a mark of regard for her commitment to the breed, the Australian Kelpie Club of NSW conducted their 1996 Autumn Championship Show as the "Jean Walker Memorial Easter Speciality Show". Jean was known to be open to advise people on breeding and be a wealth of knowledge concerning the breed. To show their respect and appreciation, Club Members formed a guard of honour with their canine companions at her funeral.
