Awarded For: Awarded for Best Gelding Hack over 15 hands which, in the opinion of the Judge, shows Thoroughbred qualities.
Donated By: Donated by the late Col AV Pope and first presented in 1950. The class was originally for 12 to 14 stone hacks. This was changed to "over 15.2 hands " when Australia converted to its current system. Until 2016 it was awarded for Best Hack over 15 hands showing thoroughbred qualities. Col AV Pope's aim in donating the trophy was to promote a better class of horse in the Show Ring.
