Mr Walton held many voluntary positions in sheep organisations throughout his life, such as President and Treasurer of the Australian Society of Breeders' of British Sheep (ASBBS) NSW Branch, Federal President of the ASBBS, and President of the NSW Lamb Committee. He was actively involved in the Australian show movement, stewarding at Sydney Shows and judging sheep at Sydney, Brisbane, Adelaide, Launceston and various NSW country agricultural shows. The breed he most preferred and with which he was most involved was the Border Leicester. Mr Walton passed away on 23 August 1995.
