Donated By: Donated by the Lederer Family and first presented in 2005. Andrew Lederer was a self-made success story of the Australian Meat Industry and built both the Presto and Primo Smallgoods empires. He received the Order of Australia medal in 1986, whilst managing the Australian World Cup Socceroos team, for his contribution to sport. In that same year he co-founded with business colleagues, Hopetown at Wyong, a facility for intellectually disabled children. In 2003 Andrew Lederer received a Special Recognition Award from the RAS. At this time he was Chairman of Primo Smallgoods P/L and owner of the Joe's Meat Market butcher chain operating 48 stores plus 11 delicatessens. His history of buying cattle at the Royal Easter Show spans from 1957 until 2003, and he competed in equestrian events in Australia until the age of 80. Andrew Lederer died in May 2004 at the age of 85.
