CONDITIONS OF ENTRY TO SYDNEY SHOWGROUND
ROYAL AGRICULTURAL SOCIETY OF NSW (‘RAS’) (ABN 69 793 644 351) trading as SYDNEY SHOWGROUND and SYDNEY ROYAL EASTER SHOW enforce the following Conditions of Entry to Sydney Showground, Sydney Olympic Park, NSW 2127 (the ‘Showground’):

1. LIQUOR LICENCE
Any individual seeking entry to Sydney Showground are advised that:
- They are entering a licensed area.
- Intoxicated individuals will not be permitted to enter.
- Intoxicated individuals will be removed from Sydney Showground.
- Alcoholic beverages and/or any opened bottles must not be taken into or from Sydney Showground and are subject to immediate confiscation.
- Entry checking procedures will apply to prevent individuals in possession of liquor from entering Sydney Showground.
- Minors (individuals under the age of 18) are not permitted to purchase or consume alcohol. The sale or supply of alcohol to minors is an offence and strictly prohibited. Any individual found to be selling or supplying alcohol to a minor will be reported to NSW Police.
- Penalties for breach of these conditions apply under the Liquor Act 2007 (No 90) (NSW).
2. RESTRICTED AND PROHIBITED ITEMS
The following restricted or prohibited items are not permitted into Sydney Showground and may be subject to immediate confiscation:
- Glass or breakable containers.
- Cans or metal containers.
- Alcoholic beverages & any other liquids as determined by the venue.
- Illicit drugs or paraphernalia including but not limited to NANGS.
- Flares, fireworks, smoke bombs, or any other explosive device.
- Laser pointers.
- Knives or other dangerous weapons including but not limited to potential missiles.
- Skateboards, scooters, roller blades and bicycles.
- Large items including eskies and bags that cannot fit under seats.
- Animals unless approved by the RAS or an approved assistance animal.
- Flags over 1m x 1m in size.
- Register rolls, shredded paper, or confetti.
- Commercial food purchased from external caterers, including recognised commercial food brands.
- Cameras and recording devices (for commercial purposes) including tripods.
- Other items as determined by the RAS that may cause injury or public nuisance.
- Backpacks & bags larger than A4 are not permitted for concerts, dance parties & festivals.
- Unsealed vapes are not permitted at music events or events as determined by the venue/event organiser.
- Unsealed cigarettes are not permitted at dance parties, festivals or events as determined by the venue/event organiser.
For ENGIE Stadium events, restricted items also include whistles, hooters, and horns. Specific conditions may apply on a case by case basis, for certain events, particularly in relation to the entry of musical instruments including drums, the display of political or offensive signage or logos, including those on clothing or other items deemed to constitute ambush marketing. Individuals are responsible for checking their ticket and event conditions prior to entry into Sydney Showground for further information.
3. GENERAL ENTRY CONDITIONS
For the comfort, safety and enjoyment of all individuals, the RAS advises that:
- Individuals may be subject to screening for prohibited items.
- Individuals causing a disturbance, acting in an anti-social manner, or refusing to comply with reasonable requests from the RAS will be removed from Sydney Showground, and may be banned from Sydney Showground.
- Individuals who gain unauthorised access to Sydney Showground and/or to any restricted or prohibited area of Sydney Showground, may constitute as trespass and may be removed from and/or banned from re-entering Sydney Showground.
- Individuals enter Sydney Showground at their own risk and must take proper care of all property they bring onto Sydney Showground. Individuals agree to be responsible for their own actions and agree that the RAS is not liable for any loss or damage to personal property.
- Individuals who are accompanied by minors, or are acting as a carer for another person, must maintain the supervision for the duration of their time at Sydney Showground.
- Individuals entering Sydney Showground agree to be responsible for their own actions, and agree the RAS is not liable for any loss or damage, cost, expense, or consequential losses.
- Individuals acknowledge that some activities are dangerous and will read signs and listen for warnings and/or instructions from RAS or event staff at all times whilst on Sydney Showground.bIndividuals partaking in activities or viewing such activities do so at their own risk.
- Unauthorised sales or hawking of goods and services is not permitted.
- The RAS may refuse admission to or remove persons from Sydney Showground at its sole discretion.
- Individuals entering Sydney Showground agree to obey all signs, notices and directions given by the RAS or security contractors.
- Smoking (including electrical cigarettes and vapes) are prohibited indoors and at all catering, public seating, or spectating areas of Sydney Showground, and where indicated by ‘No Smoking’ signage. Smoking is only be permitted at designated smoking areas.
- Entry to Sydney Showground does not guarantee automatic entry to all events and activities on Sydney Showground during the period of entry. Additional entry conditions and requirements may apply to ticketed events or areas, please check the ticket conditions from the seller or the event website for current information.
- Any ticket purchased to enable entry into the Stadium or any area or event at the Stadium cannot be exchanged or returned after purchase.
- Entry to Sydney Showground is subject to conditions imposed by Sydney Olympic Park Authority from time to time, please check the Sydney Olympic Park Authority website for more information.
- Parking is restricted to bays as designated by the RAS from time to time and vehicles must not block emergency egress doors or emergency vehicle access roads.
- All accidents or emergencies are to be immediately reported to security on 9704 1020.
- The RAS welcomes individuals accompanied by certified assistance animals. Assistance animals are specially trained to support people with disabilities, including but not limited to guide dogs, hearing dogs, and service dogs. The right of an individual to access the Showground with the use of an assistance animal is protected under laws such as the Disability Discrimination Act 1992 (‘DDA’). 4. PHOTOGRAPHY & CCTV
Amateur photographers are not prohibited from taking photographs within or around Sydney Showground, provided that:
- the photographer does not cause annoyance, disruption, or inconvenience to other patrons or
individuals.
- the subject matter of the photographs does not include any content prohibited under the Summary Offences Act 1988 (NSW);
- the consent of the subject(s) has been obtained prior to photographing, and where a subject is under 18 years of age, the consent of a parent or legal guardian has been obtained; and
- the photographs are not used, sold, or distributed for commercial gain or commercial purposes.
The RAS conducts CCTV surveillance on Sydney Showground and complies with the Workplace Surveillance Act 2005 (NSW). Body worn cameras and facial recognition cameras are in use. The RAS also has access to Sydney Olympic Park CCTV footage and vice versa. An individual entering Sydney Showground may be photographed, filmed, taped and/or subjected to monitoring by close circuit television and it is deemed that any individual entering Sydney Showground consents to the RAS or third parties appointed by the RAS photographing, filming, or taping.
The RAS or third parties appointed by the RAS (including but not limited to sponsors and media contractors) can broadcast, publish, license and use any photographs, film, recordings, or images taken at Sydney Showground without compensation to individuals attending Sydney Showground and/or events held on the Showground. The RAS, third parties and anyone acquiring from them a right to use the material are not liable to the subject for its use in any way.
5. PRAMS AND STROLLERS
For the safety of individuals attending Sydney Showground for an event:
- Prams and strollers can be stowed under seats, provided they do not cause a trip hazard to other individuals moving between seats.
- Prams and strollers must not be left in aisles or other areas that impact on the safe movement of individuals.
- Prams and strollers that do not comply with the above may be left in a designated pram bay. Pram bays may be supervised or unsupervised. The RAS is not responsible for any damage, loss or theft of the pram or any personal property left in the pram bays.
6. BANNING NOTICE FOR BREACH OF THESE CONDITIONS
At it’s sole discretion, the RAS may take action to refuse entry to any individual, and may issue a ban notice for breach of these Conditions of Entry, if the RAS is satisfied that the safety and enjoyment of other individuals is at risk. The RAS procedure is as follows:
- A ban notice may be issued directly to the individual at the time of the incident or may be sent to the individual after the event.
- The length of the ban reflects the seriousness of the conduct and the risks posed to the RAS.
- Ban notices are issued under the Inclosed Lands Protection Act 1901. Under this Act criminal penalties may apply for any unlawful re-entry onto Sydney Showground and the RAS reserve the right to apprehend offenders.
- RAS reserves the right to refuse entry to, remove, and/or ban anyone from Sydney Showground, the Stadium and/or Stadium Park who has an existing banning notice issued against them by the Stadium, and/or any other stadium or entertainment precinct in Australia, or any state, national or international sports governing body.

The RAS welcomes you to Sydney Showground and wishes you an enjoyable, entertaining, and educational day.
SYDNEY SHOWGROUND IS A UNIQUE PLACE
Sydney Showground is very different to other venues. It is a venue for a variety of exhibitors and promoters to showcase a wide range of products and services and carry on all kinds of exhibitions and entertainment including but not limited to functions, sporting, animal, social, theatrical, and musical events.
TAKE CARE
The RAS has a Work Health and Safety Policy in place and takes great effort and care to ensure that all individuals attending Sydney Showground have a safe and enjoyable time.
From time to time, there are large animals, vehicles, crowds, temporary structures and, building activity, in all kinds of environment and weather conditions. You acknowledge that participation in events such as rides involves inherent risks, which may arise from the nature of the activities.
As you proceed around Sydney Showground, take care to observe and follow all information or warning signs and any instructions that you may be given by RAS or event staff.
Take special care at all times to protect yourself and others against any loss or injury.
