Shottesbrooke claims the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW’s prestigious 15th Annual President’s Medal

Posted on : 13 April 2022

Tonight, the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW awarded its most prestigious wine, dairy and fine food Award with South Australia’s Shottesbrooke Vineyards claiming the prestigious 15th Annual President’s Medal.

The pinnacle of the RAS Sydney Royal competitions, the President’s Medal award is judged on a triple bottom line assessment to determine a producer’s social, economic, and environmental impact on not only the industry but their local communities.
Selected from more than 4000 entrants and 81 Sydney Royal Champions awarded throughout the 2021 Sydney Royal year, Shottesbrooke Vineyards underwent extensive judging including an on-site review to claim the top prize.

Established in 1981, and founded on a solid tradition of hard work, dedication, and passion, Shottesbrooke produces world-class wines that are distributed around the world. Now in the hands of the second generation, Shottesbrooke continues to grow and proudly produce premium award-winning wines that truly reflect their origin.

“We are, quite literally, able to plant the vineyards, grow the grapes, create the wine and then take that bottle to the other side of the world to enjoy. We are so proud to be able to share our truly Australian product,” Hamish Maguire, Managing Director at Shottesbrooke said.

“Shottesbrooke is a hub of activity - winemaking, creating, tasting, and enjoying. And we could not be prouder.”

President’s Medal Judge, Michael Bullen said Shottesbrooke embodies everything the RAS President’s Medal stands for.
“The President’s Medal is the pinnacle of our competition calendar. It is an award that advances the concept of quality beyond taste, setting new standards in best practice for environmental, social, and economic management.

Proud of their position in their local community, Shottesbrooke is passionate about championing the region and being an active and effective participant.

Their efforts to go above and beyond in minimising environmental impact and innovating with sustainability initiatives such as bringing back native flora and fauna were exceptional.

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW commends all six finalists of the 15th Annual President’s Medal for their devotion to building a strong and sustainable future for the Australian wine, dairy and fine foods industries.
