Two Rivers with one dream
Posted on : 14 December 2018
This has been quite a year for the Hunter Valley’s Two Rivers Wines. Having won multiple trophies at the KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show, Two Rivers Wines are continuing their run of success, with their 2013 Stones Throw Semillon announced as a finalist for the 13th Annual President’s Medal.
“Two Rivers would love to win the President’s Medal not only as a validation of all the hard work and pride from the whole team, but to show that a small producer can win this award in an incredibly competitive field and to show the potential of our industry moving forward. It is a great honour to be a part of the President’s Medal,” said Brett Keeping, Two Rivers Wines owner and viticulturist.
With more than 5,000 entrants eligible for consideration, making it as a finalist for the President’s Medal is an incredible achievement.
Now in its final stages of judging, the RAS and Ed Halmagyi (Fast Ed from channel 7’s Better Homes & Gardens) paid a visit to Two Rivers Wines, and received a private site tour, giving the judges insight into the process of creating award winning wines.
“I am impressed by the winery’s innovation and its ability to uphold aspects of the native environment that would otherwise be lost in bigger businesses,” said Halmagyi.
Having been declared a property within the Hunter Valley’s Critical Industry Cluster for Viticulture, Two Rivers Wines are advocates of sustainable environmental and agricultural practices.
The winner of the 13th Annual President’s Medal will be announced at the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show on the 17 April.
