Looking for a Bachelor of your own?

Posted on : 27 August 2018

The only Bachelor these women are interested in is a Bachelor of Agriculture. Coming from the State’s north-west, central west and mid-north coast the uniting factor is a strong desire to forge a career on the land. Laura Bignell from Gloucester will pursue a career in hydrology or soil science, whilst Gilgandra’s Alice Davis is keen on being an agronomist with a focus on innovation and technology. Prue Gordon from Bourke is driven by an interest in sustainable practices, and Bunyah’s Jaslyn Tuckwell wants to rise to the top in the dairy industry.

Laura, Alice, Prue and Jaslyn received Rural Scholarships from the RAS Foundation, easing the financial stresses of studying away from home and the burden of paying for equipment and textbooks. The Scholarships of $6000 for fulltime and $3000 for part-time study have been awarded by the RASF for eight years, assisting 424 rural and regional students reach their educational dreams.

Applications for 2019 RASF Rural Scholarships close August 31st. Apply here.
