Improve the flavour of your life

Posted on : 25 February 2021

Per capita, Australia sits in third place globally when it comes to milk consumption, but the Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce judges believe we easily sit in first place when it comes to flavour, aroma, texture, and body.

Our cheese and dairy produce industries, incorporating milk, butter, cheeses including cheddar, labneh and haloumi, gelato, yoghurt, buttermilk, custard, and other milk products from cows, sheep, goats, buffalo, and camels are churning out award-quality goods every day.

It makes sense, the first dairy cows arrived in Australia with the first fleet in 1788, and with more than 1.6 million dairy cows in Australia today, we've easily been milking cows ever since...

From Fonterra Australia's Champion Butter to Maleny Dairies Champion White Milk, the Champion Cheddar Cheese from Bega Cheese to Brownes Dairy Champion Flavoured Milk, and Cow & the Moon’s Champion Gelato... excellence in dairy produce is spread right across the country, and available in major supermarkets, corner stores, regional markets, and specialty retailers.

Despite drought, bushfires, floods, and a global pandemic the quality of entries in the Sydney Royal Cheese & Dairy Produce Show were high, and best summed up by Chair of Judges Mark Livermore, "It's outstanding product, it's as simple as that," and when asked to describe the entries this year in one word Mark simply said "Yum!"
