Grants to ensure the future of regional and rural communities

Posted on : 14 October 2020

With the support and generosity of our donors, the RAS Foundation champions and supports rural Australians as they rise to meet challenges and shape the future of country NSW. This is best achieved through the Community Futures Grants program, delivering funding of up to $25,000 for projects managed by community members.

Taking part is easy, all you have to do is identify a need in your rural NSW community, partner with a local community organisation, and create a project plan for your initiative.

Not sure if your idea is on the right track?

Recent recipients include:

  • Carcoar Showground – purchase of seat and table combinations to allow Show visitors to sit and enjoy lunch, along with shelving for inside the storage sheds.
  • Nyngan Show Society Inc & Nyngan Pony Club – awning over the serving windows at the showground’s kiosk – essential for sun and rain protection for those inside and out.
  • Oaklands CWA – a wheelchair access ramp for the CWA rooms.
  • Glen Innes Showground – brand-new refrigeration facilities inside the newly renovated showground tearooms.
  • White Cliffs Gymkhana Club (pictured)– new running rails on the track for the safety of all.
  • Drake Community Workshop – tools for community repair and construction workshop programs
  • Tenterfield Showground Grandstand Kitchen – upgrading kitchen equipment to allow greater use of the Showground dining hall.
