Volunteers

VolunteersVolunteering has been part of the Sydney Royal Easter Show since its inception, with many of the judges, officials and support staff volunteering their time to make each Show a success.

The last Show saw our Royal Easter Show 2GB volunteers excel at what they do best, making the Show a wonderful, exciting and informative experience for all Show-goers.

The Easter Show event volunteer team really started in 1998 when SOCOG (Sydney Organising Committee for the Olympic Games) used the first Sydney Royal Easter Show staged at Olympic Park as a Test event for the Olympics.

Volunteers continue to put their hands up for the opportunity to experience the fun and feeling of community spirit at The Royal Easter Show, which is the largest annual event in the Southern Hemisphere.

2GB came on board in 2003 as the official supporter of the "Sydney Royal Easter Show 2GB Volunteers." Each volunteer receives an official uniform and meal vouchers to cover expenses. In return, volunteers are asked to do 10 x 6 hour shifts over the 14 days of the Show.

Recruitment for the 2009 Sydney Royal Easter Show will commence late in 2008.
