The Rodely family have been growing, harvesting, processing, wholesaling and retailing their Tathra Oysters for nearly three decades. They are passionate about the attributes of what they believe is the world’s greatest tasting oyster, the Sydney Rock Oyster. They are also passionate about the care of the wilderness location they have stewardship of.
"Nelson Lake is a remarkably beautiful and bountiful place for the cultivation of this very special and rare oyster, that we are privileged to grow,” says Gary Rodely.
"We have been steadily growing our farm to the point where we now have infrastructure in place to harvest up to 500,000 mature oysters each year. Our secret for success has been to be patient observers of the lake’s attributes and to give this slow growing oyster the time it needs to show its full potential.
