School Commercial Pig Competition

Pig Competition Judging

The Sydney Royal School Commercial Pig Competition will run as a trial at your school before the 2019 Sydney Royal Easter Show and culminate at the Show by exhibiting your pen of 3 pigs.

The Competition is judged by experts from the pig industry and consists of three (3) components:

  1. Presentation of Exhibits: Pen of 3 pigs are judged on weight, temperament and market suitability.
  2. Carcase Component: Pigs are processed (organised by the RAS) and carcases are judged to commercial standards.
  3. Project Component – students are asked to create a PowerPoint presentation detailing how the pigs were raised and prepared for the Show.

You can download the Sydney Royal School Commercial Pig Competition Teacher's Manual, which outlines the competition in more detail, here.
