The integrity of Sydney Royal competitions rests in the hands of accomplished, knowledgeable and, most importantly, independent judges.

The 2019 Sydney Royal Alpaca and Fleece Show Judges are as per below:

Halter Class:

Andrew Munn

Alpha Centauri Alpacas, VIC

After almost 20 years in the Australian Army, Andrew with his wife Bronwyn established Alpha Centauri Alpacas in 2002. Since then Andrew has held positions of Committee Member and President at AAA Regional level, and was a member and Chair of the AAA Fiber Market Development Reference Panel.

Andrew is one of only a handful of qualified Professional Alpaca Wool Classers and he is very actively involved in the collection and classing of alpaca fibre for both Australian and international clients. Andrew is lucky enough to have his hands on over 10,000kg of both Huacaya and Suri fibre annually.

Andrew and Bronwyn manage their alpacas on properties in NSW and reside on their 170 acre farm at Warrenbayne in Victoria. They currently manage a breeding herd of over 300 alpacas consisting of both Huacaya and Suri. The stud is consistently rewarded for their efforts at both Regional, Royal and National Shows for animals and fleeces.

Employed full-time off farm, he spends the rest of his time with the alpacas which he describes as challenging and very rewarding.

Andrew has been a judge since 2013 and has been fortunate to have judged many of AAA's top shows in every state in Australia. Andrew feels extremely privileged every time he has the opportunity to judge both animals and fleece, and is excited by the continued advancements in the quality of both.
