You Be The Judge – 2017 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show Invites Media

Posted on : 05 July 2017

The Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) is today inviting the media to attend one of the most important events on the annual wine industry calendar, the judging of the 2017 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show.

Across four days this month, 31 of the most experienced Australian and a prestigious International Judge will study, smell and assess more than 2200 of Australia's best wines.
These are "blind" judgings so judges during tasting are not aware of the producer of the wine.

The Sydney Royal Wine Show dates back 191 years and has naturally earned a reputation as one the most prestigious wine competitions in Australia.

Samantha Connew returns in 2017 as the Chair of Judges;
"It is exciting to see the tastes of Australian consumers developing and evolving when it comes to wine which reflects the diverse and ever-changing nature of Sydney Royal Wine Show entries as Australia’s winemakers also develop and evolve," Ms Connew said.
"We expect the KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show in 2017 to be no different," she said.
Media are invited to attend all judging sessions, which are closed to the public, where photo opportunities with judges will be available on request.
A Media versus the Judges "blind judging" session will also be part of proceedings.
Please note, full results of the 2017 KPMG Sydney Royal Wine Show will be released at 12.01am on Friday 28 July at: www.rasnsw.com.au/wine
