The lure of a country practice could be the reasoning behind sixteen of the forty-nine Rural Scholarship recipients studying medicine, nursing or veterinarian science… or is it the desire to nurture their own regional communities in the same way the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) Foundation nurtures aspiring students through the Scholarship program.
Regional New South Wales has a chronic shortage of medical professionals, particularly general practitioners, but the next few years will see more injected into a range of districts including the Riverina, the central west and the northern tablelands thanks to the Scholarship program.
Rural Scholarships assist students who demonstrate a passion for rural issues and who are committed to playing a part in shaping the future of regional and rural NSW. The financial helping hand provided by the Scholarship allows students of any age to embrace a diverse range of tertiary education and training studies.
