The 2016 Callebaut Sydney Royal Chocolate Show results are in and while a chocolatier from South Australia stole the show with their boxed assortment, many other producers came away smiling.
Bracegirdle’s House of Fine Chocolates had sweet success at the show held in August, winning four Champion trophies, including Best in Show for their Signature Selection, along with 14 medals for their cacao delicacies.
A total of 6 gold medals, 30 silver medals and 29 bronze medals were awarded in a competition that saw a record 150 entries from 44 exhibitors.
Willy Wonker famously sang, “Come with me and you’ll be in a world of pure imagination” and competitors certainly did their best to take the Judges on that journey with innovative flavours like Robyn Rowe Chocolates’ Clonakillla Muscat Mousse (silver medal), Myrtle & Pepper Fine Chocolate’s Kalamansi Lime with Native Finger Lime Pate De Fruit (bronze medal), and Bracegirdle’s Native Bush Tomato (silver medal).
Other Champion trophies went to Mario Roche for his stunning chocolate showpiece titled ‘Out of Africa’, and student, Hung Kiat Lam, won with his Black Sesame with Green Tea Bon Bons.
