Tamworth farmer and livestock producer, Rob Vickery was elected as President of the RAS Council in July 2004.
Elected to the RAS Council in 1991, Mr Vickery has enjoyed a long and successful association with the RAS. He has served on the Horse and Cattle Committees as well as being Chairman of the Horse Committee since 2000.
For many years Mr Vickery was the announcer of the Hordern and Urquhart Trophies, Australia's most prestigious cattle prizes. |
He played an important role in the relocation of the Royal Easter Show to Sydney Olympic Park and was instrumental in the establishment of the new Schmidt Arena at Sydney Showground.
Mr Vickery is a grazier and breeder of cattle and polo ponies and is company director of Bective Station near Tamworth.
